I hereby pledge to provide a positive attitude and be responsible for my behavior by following this code of conduct at all times as a member of SLO Hockey. I understand that being part of SLO Hockey is a privilege and that I will follow and exemplify the Player Code of Conduct as a member of the SLO Hockey community.
I will play to have fun, win or lose.
I will demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times, in winning or losing, and I will encourage my teammates to do the same.
I will demonstrate a team first attitude in my behavior and play and I will be a team player. I will never place blame for a loss on my teammates. I understand that we lose or win as a team.
I will have a positive attitude and never give up on myself, my teammates, or my coaches.
I will refrain from using foul language, bullying, or intimidating my teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials.
I will take responsibility for my own behavior.
I will be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
I will obey the rules of the game and play within the spirit of the rules.
I will respect my coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, volunteers, and parents. I will not do anything to deliberately hurt or injure anyone.
I will not argue with or complain about the referee’s calls or decisions.
I will always listen attentively and learn from my coaches.
I will arrive at practices and games on time and prepared.
I will practice and play to the best of my ability and will give 100% effort 100% of the time.
My family and I (including any guest we may have in attendance) agree to follow the rules of the facilities, as well as following the code of conduct.
We will make sure that our children are having fun and that they are participating because they want to.
We will remember that the game is for the children, not for the adults.
We will reinforce and emphasize all aspects of the Player Code of Conduct, especially behavior expectations, 100% effort, team first mentality, playing by the rules, and respect for the game, coaches, officials, and teammates.
We will remember that winning or losing are just outcomes of games, and that winning is not the reason they are playing.
We will respect decisions made by coaches and referees and will refrain from “sideline coaching.”
We will only give positive feedback to players on both teams.
We will praise our children for competing fairly and trying hard. We will help our children by pointing out the strong points of their game.
We will refrain from using foul language, arguing with coaches or officials, or otherwise showing lack of sportsmanship.
All practices and games are drug and tobacco free.
We agree to have fun watching our kids play!
