IRON MAN RULES/FORMAT
If you have not played in an iron man tournament before, the rules and format are as follows:
Game slots are 20 minutes, and include a 1 minute warmup, two 8 minute run time periods, and 1 minute intermission game. Stop time will happen in the last minute of each game within a 1 goal margain. All teams are made up of 4 - 5 players, and games are 3 on 3.
After a goal against, or stoppage in play, the defending team will take the puck from their own net, while the new defending team cannot apply pressure until the referee blows his whistle, signaling the attacking team is ready, after the new defending team touches up at the half line. The attacking team must wait until the referee blows his whistle.
For penalties, The referee will put his arm up, and back down signaling a penalty, however, there will be no whistle after the change of possession. If the possessing team takes a penalty, the referee will blow his whistle, and the penalized team will have to change their possession, and the other team will take the puck out from behind their own net. To keep the flow of the game going, penalty shots will be taken at the end of the game, while the scorekeeper will keep track of how many penalties each team has taken. Even if the score will not be affected by the amount of penalty shots, penalty shots will still be taken for goal differential tiebreaker's sake.
As for tournament format, we will have the same RHA rules & format as NARCh, with 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 for a loss. If teams are tied in points, the tie breakers are head to head (if applicable, all teams in question must play each other), goals against, goals for, and if still tied, a 4 man shootout will decide the tie. Round robin games will end in a tie, while playoff games will go to a continuous sudden death overtime.
